HELP IN PORT-AU-PRINCE Haitians waited Tuesday for food. They also lined up at newly reopened money transfer offices.
This shot illustrated the lead article on the front page of the New York Times yesterday. The amazing desperation and angst-filled photograph just struck me. Yesterday, I had a chance to meet a several Haitians (an 8-year old girl and a young man), who'd just arrived from their homeland to start a life with their American relatives. They were all smiles and in quite good spirits, despite the incredible tragedies continuing in their native country.
I'm thankful for my circumstances and prayerful for those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. You'll probably feel the same after viewing more photos in Haiti Struggles with Food Distribution and reading Lines and Tempers as Haitians Queue for Cash.
